The Rutherford Police Department began in 1898 when the borough council approved buying uniforms and a bicycle for patrols. The first chief served from 1898 to 1911, with a team of one sergeant and five patrolmen. Early on, the police were tasked with rounding up loose animals like pigs, horses, goats, sheep, and cattle in town. Their duties have grown a lot since then. Can you identify this man?
